IT’S ALL ABOUT MAINTAINING OPTIMUM HEALTH
DIS-EASE = DISEASE
HEALTH DOES NOT COST IT PAYS
Does a dentist schedule you for regular cleaning and check-ups? If so, then we need to ask ourselves why? Maintenance care should also be provided by your doctor of chiropractic after a stabilization program of your problems has been addressed and treated.
Chiropractic care consists of three distinct stages of treatment; Initial Relief Care, Supportive - Corrective Care, and Wellness-Maintenance Care.
1. Initial Relief Care: Provides initial, temporary relief addressing your pain and symptoms. Relief is usually temporary if the underlying causes and effect of your pain and symptoms may not be addressed. In many cases there is trauma and or progressive micro-trauma to the soft tissue muscles, as wells as underlying degenerative changes such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis or disc degeneration which affect the muscular-skeletal system itself which requires healing and strengthening of the muscular-skeletal integrity of your spine.
2. Supportive-Corrective Care: Doctors within our healthcare system are trained to addresses the initial cause of your pain as well as the underlying cause of your pain that may be progressive due to degeneration and or trauma that affects the muscular-skeletal integrity and chronic degeneration due to age, health and trauma. Corrective care requires your Doctor of Chiropractic to assess the length of treatment required to address the condition and integrity of your spinal column, the age and physical condition of the patient, the severity of the injury and the duration of the problems. Corrective care often includes bio-mechanical muscular-skeletal rehabilitation, such as rehabilitative, active exercises and soft tissue therapies in addition to spinal manipulative adjustments.
3. Wellness-Maintenance Care: The final stage of maintenance care also addresses the integrity of the muscular-skeletal system of your spine through proper bio-mechanical, muscular-skeletal strengthening, in addition to correction of subluxations. Because day to day activities puts biomechanical strain on our bodies, we must continue to monitor the health and condition of your spine through periodic regular assessment and treatment just like your dentist. Regular scheduled chiropractic maintenance care in conjunction with rehabilitative exercises will assist your body in maintaining optimum levels wellness of your muscular-skeletal system.
